Thanksgiving

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving with John's family this year! We went up to a cabin in Timberlakes that his aunt and uncle own, and it was gorgeous. I wish we could have stayed there longer! The house was cozy with a huge fireplace and the mountain was covered in snow, we had tons of food....probably enough to last a whole week. I don't know what I was thinking when I made four pans of sweet potatoes (we only ate about half of one). We had so many appetizers that by the time we were ready to eat, I wasn't even hungry. Of course I ate anyway. So we had Thanksgiving #2 with everyone on Friday, and then John and I ate the same thing for days until it was gone. If I have to eat leftovers, I can't complain about Thanksgiving leftovers- I love them! John's mom made 50 pounds of turkey so we had plenty of sandwiches too :) 

I hardly saw Chris and Marian during our time there. I know they had so much fun with their cousins. They all made cute little turkeys with feathers saying the things they are thankful for. Marian's included "sparkles" and "myself", and Chris also included "myself". I can't complain about them having a high self esteem!

After dinner, we cleaned up, packed up, and headed down to Jeff and Suz's. We had pies and talked for a while, but by about 7:30 our kids were worn out. They were asleep in the car before we even made it back home! It was sweet to look back at them, knowing they had full tummies and fun memories to think about.

I love Thanksgiving, and I love spending it with the people who mean so much to us.
