Halloween Begins

As the kids get older, I've noticed that Halloween is a week-long holiday. It's definitely not one night of trick or treating. It starts with cookie parties, pumpkin decorating parties, wearing your costume to school, wearing your costume to dance class, being "boo'd" by neighbors, trunk or treats, and then finally it's Halloween night. Marian had known for a long time that she wanted to be a princess mummy but I didn't want to wrap her for dance class, so she went in a princess dress and lots of jewelry:

Chris had planned on being a ghost but after a trip to Target one day he changed his mind. I told John when we got home that Chris picked out a bumblebee costume, and John instantly broke out into a cold sweat. ("Our son is a....bumblebee?") Don't worry honey, it wasn't a bumblebee. It was the Bumblebee from Transformers. So he got to wear his costume for his preschool costume parade: (And I could tell he felt very cool!)

So these are just the beginning of our Halloween extravaganza pictures...more to come tomorrow!
